About

A Life of Faith, Learning, Leadership and Purpose

Welcome. I am Tebatoki Taawetia, an author, educator and lifelong learner from Kiribati.

My journey has taken me from the classroom as a science teacher into increasingly senior roles in education and public service, including serving as Secretary for the Office of Te Beretitenti and, most recently, Secretary for the Ministry of Education in Kiribati. These experiences have given me the privilege of working with people at many levels—from students, teachers and communities to national leaders and international partners.

Throughout that journey, I have become increasingly convinced that some of life’s greatest transformations begin not with extraordinary events, but with the choices and habits we practise consistently each day.

Faith, health, education and purposeful living have therefore become central themes in my writing and in the work I hope to share with others.

Why I created Tebatoki.com

Tebatoki.com grew from a simple conviction: that the lessons we gather through life should not end with us. Knowledge, experience, faith, successes, failures and the wisdom gained along the way become more valuable when they are shared with others.

This website is therefore a place where I can share what I continue to learn about faith, health, education, leadership, purposeful living and lifelong learning. It is also the home of my writing and books, including The Twelve God-Given Habits, through which I hope to encourage practical habits that can contribute to healthier, stronger and more purposeful lives.

My hope is that Tebatoki.com will continue to grow into a useful resource for people in Kiribati, across the Pacific and beyond—a place for learning, reflection, encouragement and the sharing of ideas that can make a positive difference in people’s lives.
